AN INDEPENDENT photocopying and stationery business has said they are "committed to helping customers and families" that suffer from dementia.

Hi-Plan Copy Print, located in Herbert Terrace, Penarth, is the latest business to jump-on board the Dementia Friendly Penarth Campaign.

The business does printing, photocopying and sells stationery supplies to its customers.

Owner Emma Pringle said she wanted her team to become dementia friendly to help out those in the town.

She said: "Working towards becoming dementia friendly is a great initiative for us and other traders to build on the Shop Penarth"campaign.

"It's important to the local community that more people are aware of dementia and the Dementia Friendly movement allows us to make a public commitment to helping our customers and their families."

The shop is the third business to join the campaign, which aims to make businesses aware of how to help customers, friends and family members with dementia.

The campaign shares ideas and tips on how businesses, cafes, restaurants and other venues should interact with people who have the disease.

For businesses or anyone who would like to get on board with Dementia Friendly Penarth, the next steering group meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 27 at 2pm in Trinity Church, Stanwell Road, Penarth.

All are welcome to attend and are free to invite any friends/associates who are interested in helping to make the town more dementia friendly.
