THE parishioners of St Mary’s RC Church were the hosts of a recent wine quiz organised to raise funds for the Dinas Powys Community Library.
There was a panel of ‘experts’ who gave a description of the wine and teams had to work out which expert was correct.
Councillor Keith Hatton, who is also a library trustee thanked everyone who attend.
He said: "We are very grateful to the ‘experts’ who guided us through the wines and the lovely food. The support from the business community was also much appreciated. Mark from Head to Head, Howard Potter accountant and Alex Easton Estate Agent all sponsored the event.
"We are very thankful to St Mary's Church for hosting the night and so generously supporting the library. Hopefully we raised about £600 for the library."
The library is now a charity and has to raise £13,000 a year. It provides IT faculties, a Lego Club, newspapers, DVDs, children’s activities and more.
