THE Barry Branch of the Royal Air Force will be holding their 80th anniversary concert over two days next month.
The branch will welcome the ABS Choir to All Saints Church, Barry on Friday, September 7, and will be joined by young vocalist Llinos.
There will be a concert also taking place in All Saints Church in Penarth on September 8, where the branch will be joined by Lucie, an accomplished vocalist, and thank the town of Steenburgen for their memorials and the care and attention to the grave of Guy Gibson and his navigator Jim Warrick, who were killed over Steenbergen and buried in the local cemetery.
Doors open for both concerts at 7.30pm. The event is free and donations, if desired, may be given towards the work of the branch.
The branch was formed in 1938 at the time RAF St Athan was being constructed.
It supports serving personnel and ex-serving personnel and their families.
