THE first case of Swine Flu has been confirmed in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Health chiefs said yesterday (Wednesday) that a 64-year-old Vale woman was one of four new cases in Wales.
The woman, whose infection is linked to a visit to an area where there is sustained community spread, is recovering well. Close contacts have been identified and she has been offered antiviral medicine.
There have been 30 confirmed cases so far in Wales, and Chief Medical Officer for Wales, Dr Tony Jewell, said the increase in cases was to be expected.
