Pupils and teachers enjoy annual book celebration

WORLD Book Day is the biggest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK and Ireland. The day is a celebration of books and reading sponsored by National Book Tokens.

Fairfield staff and children celebrated World Book Day on March 4 by coming to school dressed as book characters. Visitors to the school were likely to bump into such well-loved book characters such as Goldilocks, Puss-in-Boots, James Bond, Pocahontas and even Mr Bump himself. All class activities during the day were literacy-based fun activities and the children were each given a book token which can be exchanged for a free book. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and children alike.
