MONEY continues to pour in for two-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Elodie Wilton – with the latest donation from a Penarth keep fit group pushing the total raised to more than £25,000.
The Albert Road Ladies Keep Fit group recently handed over a cheque for £1000, money that was raised from table top sales.
Elodie’s parents, Cath and Rhys Wilton, from Dinas Powys, are in a race against time to raise £40,000 to pay for an operation that will improve their daughter’s mobility.
The Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) procedure is best performed when patients are young, before joint deformities take place.
Following their plea in the Penarth Times, the couple have managed to raise £25,500 with the help of the local community.
Cath said: "The donation from the Albert Road Ladies Keep Fit group is amazing.
"It was a lovely gesture and has moved us nearer our total."
