THE Vale Council’s scrutiny committee for economy and environment is set to discuss the possible development of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point, Somerset.
The Vale is the closest part of Wales to Hinkley, less than 15 miles from the power station proposed as part of a Government consultation process to identify sites suitable for new nuclear power.
Following a request for consideration, a debate will take place on the benefits/implications of any development, with representations from interested parties.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 2, from 6pm in committee room two, in the council’s Civic Offices, Barry. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
