A PENARTH performer is on a mission to raise £8,000 for her one-woman theatre show, WiLD.

Teifi Emerald, who attended Ysgol Pen y Garth and has been performing since childhood, has set herself just four weeks to collect the money.

“I’ve dreamt of making a solo show all my life,” she said.

“I put my heart and soul into creating WiLD, and now I need to raise the funds to take it to the stage – and I’ve given myself four weeks to do it.”

Teifi says the show was inspired by her childhood.

“I started at the age of seven making plays in my living room, and that instinct to use my imagination is what WiLD is all about," she explained.

"That wild creativity is brought to life by monster characters in the play. It’s also about our adult fears and how we give up on ourselves.”

She said the production promised a magical story, humour, song, dance, electrifying characters and fantastical costumes.

Theatre director Greg Cullen said: “What sparks this remarkable performer into something unique is her eccentric take on life, her mind-bendingly obtuse interpretation of the ordinary and her flights of insane improvisational madness.”

Teifi has also promised prizes for donors - like singing performances, handmade artwork, drama workshops, and a holiday in Pembrokeshire. “If anyone can help me I would be so grateful, as every small donation counts," she added.

She will be singing songs from the show around Penarth Town Centre on Saturday, November 12.
