Appeal to find parents' best man...

A MAN from Swindon is trying to trace the best man at his parents' wedding, ahead of their diamond wedding anniversary party.

David Ponting believes the man - David Sully - who would now be around 81 - may be in the Dinas Powys area.

Mr Ponting's father, Leonard Ponting, has not been in touch with his best man since his wedding day in July 1952.

"The pair did their national service together in the RAF Signals based in Gibraltar," explained son David.

"David Sully was best man at my parents' wedding but after the ceremony he returned to Wales and they went on honeymoon, and they haven't spoken since.

"We are holding a wedding party diamondfor my parents," he added.

"If I could trace David, it would make my father's day."
