Penarth's summer organ concerts start tomorrow at St Augustine's Church
4:40pm Sunday 1st July 2012 in News
SUMMER Organ Concerts at St Augustine's Church, Penarth, run from July 2 to 8.
This year the popular annual summer series of organ concerts consists of four events spread over a week.
The series begins on Monday, July 2, at 7.30pm with an unusual programme of organ duets played by two of Wales' most popular players, Robert Court and Jeffrey Howard.
There are two lunchtime organ recitals during the week both played by organists associated with Llandaff Cathedral. The first on Wednesday, July 4, at 1.05pm is played by James Norrey, assistant organist at Llandaff; and the second is on Friday, July 6, at 1.05pm when David Thomas, the Llandaff Cathedral Parish Organist, will play.
The festival ends on Sunday, July 8, at 3pm with a magnificent concert by internationally renowned organ virtuoso Thomas Trotter. Thomas is a regular visitor to the festival and his concerts are always one of the highlights.
Refreshments available at all concerts, and a selection of second-hand organ music will also be on sale.
There are various admission prices. For further details ring Robert Court on 029 20 619436, or see the posters at the church.
