SUPPORT: Law firm Mooneerams Solicitors has set up a new scheme to support Marie Curie Hospice Penarth, and the charity as a whole.
MARIE Curie Hospice Penarth is to benefit from a new match-funding scheme.
Cardiff and Pontypridd-based law firm Mooneerams Solicitors is to offer clients the opportunity to donate some of the compensation they receive from successful cases to Marie Curie, as well as other charities signed up to the scheme.
And they have pledged to match each donation by up to £100 - to raise twice as much money for the charity.
This year Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals will care for more than 2,250 people with a terminal illness, as well as provide support for their families.
Karen Jones, community fundraising manager at the Penarth hospice said: "We are extremely grateful for the support we are receiving from Mooneerams Solicitors through this scheme.
"The funds raised will go directly towards providing care for people in Wales suffering from terminal illness, as well as support for their families."
Other charities signed up for the Charity Match Fund scheme include anti-poverty agency ActionAid, BulliesOut, St David's Hospice Care and learning disability charity Mencap Cymru.
Vin Mooneeram, partner at Mooneerams Solicitors, said: "This is our way of supporting charities that benefit the local communities in which we operate, and are close to the heart of our clients.
"All of the charities signed up to the scheme do a fantastic job of raising funds and awareness for amazing and important causes, and we're delighted to support the great work they do."
