Zero tolerance on dog fouling and littering: 76 penalties issued

LOCAL authority support company XFOR issued 76 Fixed Penalty Notices for dog fouling and littering offences in the Vale of Glamorgan during the week commencing August 6.

XFOR have been tasked by the Vale Council to help tackle dog fouling and littering incidents, and they are taking a zero tolerance approach to environmental crimes, where offenders will be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £75 without warning.

Fixed Penalty Notice offences specifically relate to the Environmental Protection Act (1990), Fouling of Land Act (1996) and Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act (2005).

£75 is a bit steep for some people, especially those who are unemployed, they get something like £100 a fortnight to live on and have 2 weeks to pay? Thats ok if you'r loaded, and it wont make a dent in your wallet. Now i read somewhere that its £75 by default and can be reduced if paid early... actually its in the environmental protection act (1990) in the fpn section (fixed penalty notice). I did a little research and apparantly its £50 if paid within ten days for litter. Not sure on dog fouling, but its reduced just the same. Early payment discount its called.

so the people of the Enviromental Enforcement team are actually doing some work then. the only places that i have seen them is either in Morrisons (shop, car park and Cafe) or over outside the Civic Offices never actually seeming to be working though.

ive noticed that as well, they are always in the morrissons cafe, so im guessing all the money they spend eating and drinking they claim back as expenses form the council. I wonder whos paying for that.
