Made In Penarth
THE Made in Penarth group of local artists and makers are holding their first Summer Exhibition from today (September 4) until September 16 at the Dahl Gallery, Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay.
Eleven members of the group will be showing a varied mix of fine art paintings, prints and cards, jewellery, glass art and delicious cupcakes.
Artists whose work features are Frank Collict (fine art); Steve John (fine art); Diana Mead (fine art); Bea Roberts (jewellery); Kate Dumbleton (jewellery); Judith Martin-Jones (glass artist); Guy Wooles (fine art); Chris Taylor (botanical art); Andrew Coslett (fine art); Debra Edwarda (baker); Anne Morgan (jeweller).
All work is for sale and there is free entry to the exhibition which is open from 9am-6pm daily. Local jewellery designer Kate Dumbleton said: "We are all excited about holding an exhibition at the Norwegian Church - it's a great location and a brilliant opportunity to showcase some of the skills and talent in Penarth.
"The group was set up last year as a way for artistic people to meet, and share ideas and selling opportunities. Being a self-employed artist or designer can be tough at the best of times, so this is a great informal way of having support and a good time selling together."
Made in Penarth is a showcase for creative people who live or work in the town.
