BEAUTY CONTEST: Elis Abdo has made it through to the final of Miss Cardiff.
A PENARTH woman bidding to become Miss Cardiff has organised a fundraising quiz night in the town.
Elis Abdo, of Salop Place, has made it through to the final of Miss Cardiff, which takes place next Friday (September 14).
And tonight (Friday, September 7) she has organised a fundraising quiz night and raffle at the Penarth Labour Club.
All of the money raised, with tickets at £5, will go towards the Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales - the designated charity for Miss Wales contestants.
Raffle prizes include vouchers for the Fig Tree and Glendale restaurants, for local hair and tanning salons, and coffee from Starbucks.
"I have always wanted to do charity work," said former Stanwell pupil Elis, 21.
"I have been doing voluntary work in a nursery and with disabled children in Ysgol Erw’r Delyn."
Miss Cardiff is a regional qualifier for the annual Miss Wales pageant, with three girls going through to the grand final. "I've never done a beauty pageant before so I don't know what to expect!" she added.
The fundraising quiz night and raffle is at Penarth Labour Club on Friday (September 7) from 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 on the door.
