A PENARTH woman is organising a concert with local bands to help fund her music studies.

Gabriella Urvano, 19, hopes to study an Electric Guitar course at the Nexus music college in Coventry.

Former Stanwell pupil Gabriella needs to raise £6,500 for the course and organise a concert as part of the entry requirements.

Gabriella, who recently organised a 'Starbucks Got Talent' competition in Cardiff, said: "The Penarth fundraising gig will be the last event I will organise.

"I have managed to raise about £4,000 so far, so hopefully I will get to my target soon."

Gabriella, who will be performing at the concert, added: "I write my own music, and I would just like to be heard."

Local bands including Open Doors and musicians Luke Bennett and John Teagle will also be performing at the concert, at the All Saints Church Lesser Hall on Saturday, September 15.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with tickets priced £3. There will also be a raffle, tuck shop, food and drink and other refreshments.

Any other bands that would like to get involved can contact Gabriella on 07725 485738.
