All welcome to Macmillan coffee morning in Sully!
4:40pm Monday 24th September 2012 in News
FUNDRAISING: Kathy Beach with her daughter and granddaughter.
A SULLY grandmother is hosting a Macmillan coffee morning, in support of her daughter who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Kathy Beach will hold the fundraiser at the Old School hall in Sully – which has allowed her to take over the regular coffee morning slot from 10.30am to noon next Thursday (September 27).
There will be a raffle and bric-a-brac table, tea/coffee with home made cookies, and muffins and cakes, available for a £1.50 donation.
Cathy said she got involved after a young mum in the village, whose mother died from breast cancer, appealed through Sully Residents Association for volunteers to hold events for the cancer charity.
“The subject matter is very close to my heart as my daughter - a mum of three children all aged under five - is undergoing treatment for breast cancer,” she said.
“My daughter, her four-year-old daughter and myself all completed the Race for Life earlier this year, and I got involved with the coffee morning after I heard about the local appeal.
“We hope to attract as many people as possible and all are welcome to come along on the day.”
