Penarth's Bullmastiff brewing brothers celebrate 25 years of ale!
4:40pm Thursday 27th September 2012 in News By Robert James Owen
HERE’S TO BREW! Brothers Bob and Paul Jenkins, owners of Bullmastiff Brewery.
TWO brewing brothers from Penarth are preparing to raise their real ale glasses in honour of their silver jubilee.
Bob and Paul Jenkins, who were born at 65 Windsor Road, own the Bullmastiff Brewery which operates from Bessamer Close, off Hadfield Road in Cardiff.
And 25 years after they opened in October 1987 - on Archer Road in Penarth - they are preparing to celebrate years of award-winning brewing with a special presentation at the Bear’s Head.
The pair will be honoured by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), which in 2000 named one of their ales as Champion Beer of Great Britain. They have also won Champion Beer of Wales on numerous occasions.
Bob, who named the brewery after his love for Bullmastiff dogs, said it had been 25 years of bliss.
“I could never see myself doing anything else," he said.
“I always said that once you find something you love doing, you never really have to work another day in your life.”
Paul, who like his brother starts work at the brewery at around 3.30am each day and finishes before most people make it in at 9am, added: “Im looking forward to the next 25 years - or 175 in doggy years!”
The presentation will be held on Tuesday October 2 from 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
