Can you rescue Kenny from the kennels?
4:00pm Wednesday 10th October 2012 in News
THE Barry & District News and penarth Times have joined forces with the Vale of Glamorgan Dog Warden Service to publicise the work of the area's kennels - and to find homes for some of its residents.
* Kenny, a terrier cross, is 12 months old and gets very excited when meeting new friends but soon calms down after a walk. He gets on well with other dogs.
* Georga is a Labrador cross, 18-months-old, and shares a kennel with Tipsy. Georga is friendly and loves walks and cuddles.
* Hanna, a staff cross, is between 10 and 12 months old. She is affectionate, playful and well behaved and can sit and walk nicely on the lead. She gets on well with other dogs.
Croft Kennels at Bridgend is where the Vale's stray and unwanted dogs are cared for.
The purpose-built kennels in Coity become the temporary home for all dogs picked up by the Vale of Glamorgan Council's Dog Wardens, until they are reunited with their families or adopted by new ones.
The Vale Council's Dog Wardens stress that adopting a dog is a big commitment and they are always happy to offer advice to anyone considering giving a dog a home.
The kennels are open between 11am and 6pm seven days a week, and anyone wishing to adopt a dog can contact: Croft Rescue Kennels, Waun Davey House, Heol Llan, Coity, Bridgend CF35 6BU; tel (01656) 862288; website www.croftrescuekennels.com
