BARCLAYS staff in Penarth brewed up a cake and coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Employees at the branch gave away homemade cakes in return for a small donation on Friday, September 28 - and with the help of Starbucks, who supplied the coffee, they raised £170.

The money will be matched pound for pound by Barclays - who raised £630,000 across the UK for Macmillan last year - bringing the total for the branch this year to £340.

Branch manager Mike Thomas said: "It was a great day for colleagues and customers - it was fantastic to show the local community how we are supporting Macmillan, and the coffee morning was the icing on the cake."

Carla Morini, partnership acccount manager from Macmillan said: "I'd like to thank all the employees and customers at Barclays Penarth for supporting us."
