Cardiff Half Marathon: Penarth road closures on Sunday morning

PENARTHIANS should expect traffic disruption on Sunday morning (October 14), due to road closures while the 2012 Cardiff Half Marathon takes place.

A number of roads will be closed to traffic as the runners head up Penarth Road from Sloper Road, down Terra Nova Way and across the Barrage to Cardiff Bay.

Cogan Spur (in both directions), Windsor Road (in a south-easterly direction to the Marconi Avenue junction), Penarth Road (in both directions), Barry Road (in a southwesterly direction to the Merrie Harrier junction), Llandough Hill (in both directions), Marconi Avenue (in both directions), Terra Nova Way (in both directions), and Penarth Portway (in both directions), will all be closed between 8am and 11.30am.

Signed diversions will be used to take traffic in and out of Penarth via the B4267 Penlan Road and Leckwith Road (this route is unsuitable for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes due to a weak bridge at the bottom of Leckwith Hill).
