A PENARTH entrepreneur has won a new business award, by helping to 'put a bit of glamour' into every woman's life.

Beth Coslett runs Cardiff-based Glamour Fix, an express beauty service which delivers professional hair and make-up - and her drive and determination, combined with some impressive business prowess, has earned her the first ever Young Woman of Business Award.

Set up this year, the scheme is designed to help women aged 18-35 in Wales to start up or develop their own business, and reward those who show particular leadership.

As a result, 25-year-old Beth will be mentored by the woman behind the Young Woman of Business programme, Annette Burgess, MD of a rural Internet Service Provider.

Beth said the aim of her business is to make girls' nights outs a bit more glamorous. "Women can turn up to a Glamour Fix event and have their hair styled and their make up professionally done before their big night out," she said.

"By bringing a group of women together for drinks, canapes and getting their 'look' just right before they head out, everyone has a great time."

Annette said that of all the nominations she received, Beth's showed the most enthusiasm and drive.

"Offering a professional, affordable service to all women is a really interesting idea, and I am looking forward to helping Beth make her business expand," she said.

Beth has already taken on 20 professional hair and make-up specialists on a part-time basis, with plans to expand across Wales.

The Young Woman of Business Award has attracted the attention of well-known business leaders, including Dragon's Den star Hilary Devey and Ann Summers CEO Jacqueline Gold.

Newly appointed Secretary of State for Wales, David Jones MP, said: "Programmes such as the Young Woman of Business are a great way to highlight and support young entrepreneurs.

"I hope it will encourage more young women in Wales to develop great ideas."
