Earlier start for 2013 fortnightly garden waste collections

THE Vale Council is to introduce alternate week garden collections a month earlier than planned in 2013.
During the winter, the Council operates a ring and collect service for residents needing to dispose of garden waste. However under new plans unveiled for 2013, the ring and collect service will end a month earlier than planned, when the more convenient alternate weekly kerbside collections will kick in.
Contrary to the current recycling calendar which advises that the ring and request service operates from Monday, December 3, 2012 until March 22, 2013, the service will in fact finish four weeks earlier on February 22.
Garden waste collections in 2013 will now start from February 25, and will take place on alternate weeks to black bag days through until the end of November.
