Man arrested after hit-and-runs leave one dead and 11 injured

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder, after a 32-year-old woman died and 11 people - including seven children - were injured in a series of hit-and-runs. The man was arrested between the Barons Court and Merrie Harrier, where the road remained closed on Friday evening.
The incidents took place in Ely and Leckwith, at Crossways Road, Cowbridge Road West, Grand Avenue, Sloper Road and Leckwith Retail Park.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police in Cardiff are continuing to investigate a number of road traffic collisions in the Ely and Leckwith area of the city.
"A 31-year-old man has been arrested and a van has been seized."
Casualties were taken to the University Hospital of Wales. The accident and emergency department is currently closed to all other patients.
