The site of the disused St Paul's Church may provide homes for 63 people in a plan put forward by a private housing trust.

The Woodland Housing Trust asked Penarth Council this week to support their plan for a six-storey block of 24 flats on the site of the deconsecrated church in Arcot Street.

The ballot to find Penarth's top pop group will come to its climax next Tuesday night when the votes will be counted at the Council Offices, West House.

A Cub pack has been formed at Llandough and will now meet at the Institute every Thursday evening at 5.45pm.

Penarth Social gained a fine, well deserved 5-3 victory to knock their local rivals, Penarth YMCA of the second round of the Cardiff Combination Cup, at Cogan, last Saturday.

Social and YMCA have been anxious to meet in competitive football and both sides were confident of coming out on top. This time it was Social's day.

The opening of an ambitious, large-scale extension to the existing men's wear premises of AC Holder and Sons, Windsor Road, tomorrow will give the town its first walk-through store.

The Sully Constitutional Club held their Second Annual Dinner and Dance, in the new wing of the Barry Memorial Hall, last Friday.

Neath maintained their 100 per cent record by beating Penarth by 17 points to three at the Gnoll last Saturday. The Seasiders made a lively contribution to a game that was obviously appreciated by the Neath crowd.
