ON WEDNESDAY, November 16 and Thursday, November 17 at the Paget Rooms, Allegro – Penarth Voices in Harmony performed their popular annual concert, which was put together by their musical director Ray Dibble.
Once again, as in previous years, the show was a sell-out on both nights. The choir entertained with some popular numbers from the musicals, including With One Look from Sunset Boulevard and Tell Me It’s Not True from Blood Brothers.
David G Harrington accompanied the choir on the piano with his usual flair and hilarity and kept the audience entertained with his antics.
Two special guests from the Welsh College of Music and Drama were appreciated by everyone with Michael Lowe returning for a second year, singing many songs from Broadway musicals and Osian Dafydd had everybody spellbound with his excellent playing of the violin.
As in previous years Mark Thompson kept the whole show together with his funny jokes and lovely singing.
The evening finished with an MGM Tribute which prompted a standing ovation from the appreciative audience.
