AMELIA Trust Farm is running a variety of events over the next few weeks to help out wild birds this winter.

On January 21, children can have a go at making wild bird feeders using natural materials. Once finished the bird feeders can be taken home and hung in the garden ahead of the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch which takes place from January 28-30.

The farm will also be taking part in the birdwatch with families invited to visit on January 28. Those attending will meet outside the cafe at 11am for a walk around the farm and woodlands to spot as many different species of birds in as many different habitats as possible.

If you miss out on the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, the farm will hold the annual Big Farmland Bird count organised by the Game and Wildlife Trust on February 11, where families can help farm staff count the amount of birds on the farm.

Families can meet outside the cafe at 11am for a walk around the farm to see how many different species of birds can be found.

After the walk there will be the opportunity for children to have a go at making some bird feeders to take home and hang up in their gardens to give the birds a treat.

Full details of all these events can be found on the events section of the Amelia Trust Farm’s website at ameliatrust.org.uk

Some of the events require pre-booking and are being held as a fundraiser for the Amelia Trust Farm.

All proceeds will raise much needed funds to help support the important work that the farm does with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
