PENARTH Air Cadets enjoyed snowy scenes at the Brecon Beacons recently during a walk up Sugarloaf Mountain.

As well as enjoying the view, cadets also started some navigation training. This involved learning how to use a map, compass and the land around to work out where they were, where they were going and what to do if they got lost.

These will be used in for the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions later this year.

Cadets from the Pontyclun and Aberdare squadron also joined them during the walk.

If you want to make friends, develop skills and try something new then Penarth Air Cadets is looking for members. If you are between 12 and 17-years-old you are welcome to visit the squadron to see what they do.

The squadron parade on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7pm to 9.30pm next to Dingle Road train station.
