VALE-BASED Nicola Peros Ballet School is celebrating the success of their students after they receive top results from the Royal Academy of Dance examination.

In total 32 students received either a pass with high Merit or Distinction and the Pre-Primary in Dance students all achieved their Class Award.

Nicola Peros Ballet holds classes in St Nicholas Hall, Barry, and in Cowbridge Road, Cardiff, and has an outstanding reputation for turning out classical dancers.

A number of students have gone on to take-up vocational school places at The Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst Ballet School, Hammond School Chester and Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London.

Several students are on Associate Programmes with The Royal Ballet and Ballet Cymru and the school was featured on S4C’s Mwy O Mwfs series on dance in November 2016.

One former pupil Maisie French, now studying at a top vocational school, played the young Margot Fonteyn on the BBC documentary of her life that was shown at Christmas which was presented by Darcey Bussell. Another pupil, Stefanie Maurer, has also been awarded her third year place on the Junior Associate Programme with The Royal Ballet School and will be the subject of a feature on S4C’s Heno.

School principal, Nicola Peros was also asked to judge the University of Cardiff Dance Competition which is for teams drawn from universities across the UK who compete in a number of different dance genres including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and tap.
