Presiding at the 48th annual Easter Vestry meeting of the Parish of All Saints, the vicar and rural dean reminded parishioners that the Easter Vestry was the most important parish meeting of the year.

St Augustine's Bell Tower received a visit on Saturday last from a band of Ringers who are students at present studying at Liverpool University.

They were completing their Easter Ringing Tour, which this year brought them to South Wales Towers, having already visited a number of local towers, including Llandaff Cathedral and St John's, Cardiff.

Dinas Powis bowlers achieved outstanding success in the Welsh Indoor Bowling Association's short greens championships held at St Paul's, Penarth, last Thursday.

In only their first year in the league, the Dinas Powis Methodist Ladies' team carried off the WWIBA title by beating Sully Ladies 22-15. A magnificent performance.

The Badminton section of Dinas Powis Lawn Tennis Club spent their annual night out at the Star Hotel last Thursday, where they enjoyed a meal and a game of skittles.

A coffee morning held by St Peter's Church Choir last Thursday help entertain a visiting choir from Bournemouth, made over £18.

Last July St Peter's Choir spent a weekend in a village near Bournemouth, when they attended a music festival. This July they are to play hosts in a return visit.

An auction sale held at the Dinas Powis Methodist Youth House last Saturday afternoon raised about £125 towards the Building Fund.

A well known auctioneer gave his services and the afternoon proved a great success both financially and socially.

A lifeless Penarth side put up an appalling performance against Pontypridd last Saturday. Although both teams were guilty of dull, negative play, the visitors just about deserved their 13-3 victory.

Winning the toss at the commencement of their game against Swansea Uplands on Saturday, Old Penarthians' skipper gave the West Walian - paying their first visit To Cwrt-y-Vil - the advantage of the breeze blowing from the clubhouse end of the ground.
