BUDDING Penarth actress and singer Jodi Bird has continued her promising career with a first place finish at a festival for young musicians. Eleven-year-old Jodi, who recently appeared in the Penarth Times after landing her debut film role in new movie ‘Framed’, was competing in the South Glamorgan Festival for Young musicians - which took place at Llandaff Cathedral School on Saturday.
The Ysgol Pen y Garth pupil finished first in two categories - 20th Century song for Theatre and Film, and Junior Voice.
She sang ‘Electricity’ from Billy Elliot and ‘Wiegenlied’, the Cradle song by Schubert, in German.
This is Jodi’s fourth year in the competition and she has enjoyed success every year so far.
Jodi has been invited by officials from the festival to sing at the City United Reform Church this Saturday, where she will once again perform ‘Electricity’.
