CHRISTINE Richards opened her Japanese and Tropical garden at Sea Breeze Oyster Bend Sully in July, raising £1,070 pounds for the National Garden Scheme.
270 visitors explored the garden including Llancarfan Mothers Union and Taff's Well Horticultural Society.
People gave generously to the raffle. First prize was a signed photograph of John Barrowman, which he kindly donated – this was won by Cyril Ridley from Barry.
Brynawel Garden Centre (Sully Road) kindly donated two trays of beautiful plants to help the event.
Christine would like to thank everyone for their generosity and for turning up to support the charity.
Due to ill health and having to make a decision, she has decided not to open for the NGS next year, but is still open this year by appointment until the last day in August.
Entry £3, tea £1. Telephone 02920 531214 for details.
