PENARTH’S town centre post office is to close for just under a week, while extension work is completed.
The Glebe Street branch is being made bigger, and more serving positions installed.
Work started to create a single storey extension at the rear of the building some weeks ago, and now this has been completed the internal work can begin.
In order to do this, the branch will be closed from Tuesday, March 9 and will reopen for business on Monday, March 15.
The existing service positions and screen will be moved back, allowing an additional open plan serving position to be added.
Kathryn Alexander, Post Office Limited Manager said: "I would like to apologise for the temporary closure of the branch, but in order to ensure the Health and Safety of our customers and to allow the work to proceed as quickly as possible, we felt it was unavoidable."
"I would like to thank our customers for their patience during the short time the branch is closed.
"During this period customers can use any Post Office branch, the nearest ones being Wood Street (Cornerswell Road) and the new Lavernock Post Office Local service in Penarth."
The work is being part-funded by the Welsh Assembly Governments PODF fund.

Why couldnt they sort out their differences without the need to move to a shop that was always going to be too small.
The shop was a stupid size when it opended, and has meant I had to drive around caridff to get tax on a vehicle I had just sold and was on SORN (or the chap wouldnt have been able to drive away with the car)
Complete joke, yet another monkey run business
