STARDOM is once again beckoning for a Penarth estate agent who will appear in a new TV show next week.
Derek Richardson, owner of Squarefoot in Windsor Road, recently took part in filming for Channel FIVE series, ‘The Boss is Coming to Dinner’.
The program aims to help managers and business owners find the right employee to fill a vacancy.
Once the company has a provisional short list of candidates, the boss then attends a series of dinners at the applicants’ homes.
Derek has already featured on our screens when he appeared in BBC One property show, Homes Under The Hammer, last year.
“I think I'd better start looking for an agent!” he joked.
“We wanted to appoint some new staff and this seemed a novel way of finding the right people.
”We filmed the pilot earlier this year and the cameras came back for a week last month.”
Each boss and their company will be featured over five programmes running from Monday to Friday, with Derek's episodes set to start from Monday (August 23).
On the first four nights the boss will get the chance to interview two prospective candidates per night over dinner in their homes.
Then on Friday, the tables are turned as the four strongest candidates are invited to the office for a final interview with the boss and to hear the decision.
Greg Barnett, Five’s Commissioning Editor, said: “It’s a unique format with some huge characters. "Expect blood, sweat and panic as the week progresses and people fighting over a hot stove for the job of their dreams.”
*The Boss is Coming to Dinner is on week nights from 6pm on Channel FIVE.
