ON Saturday (April 9), 18 cubs from the 6th Penarth gathered at Cosmeston for a sponsored walk in aid of Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice.

The Cubs had chosen to raise money for Ty Hafan as their 'Good Deed' this year, and in splendid sunshine they lined up - with parents, leaders, water bottles and two pet dogs - to be given the official 'off you go' by Deputy District Commissioner, Barry Angus.

The task was to walk around the lakes for one hour, and the Cubs completed their effort with smiles, even though very hot.

The unofficial amount raised by the Cubs so far will be in excess of £350. Well done to the 6th for giving their time to others!

The group needs more adults to help - anyone interested in becoming a leader or a supporter of the 6th Penarth Scout Group can contact Barry Angus, Deputy District Commissioner, on 029 2031 0269 or email: robert.angus@ntlworld.com More information about joining Scouts can be found at scouts.org.uk/join and information about Penarth and District Scouts can be found on the website www.penarthanddistrictscouts.org.uk
