Pianist Ivan Ilic to perform in Penarth

THE Welsh Arts Council Night Out scheme, in conjunction with the Café International Penarth, is hosting a debut classical piano concert - with a film and meal difference!

On Saturday, February 18, at The Paget Rooms, Penarth, listen live to Ivan Ilic, currently on a UK tour to feature his latest CD of Chopin/Godowsky’s Etudes for the left hand (just released in France and due for release in UK on March 17).

This notoriously difficult feat takes on new heights as Ivan plays so effortlessly and with such great spirit. His growing worldwide reputation has been winning him huge acclaim. He will also be selling and signing copies of the new CD.

For more about Ivan Ilic check out his website and hear him play at www.IvanCDG.com In addition Ivan has recently made his acting debuts in two French short films: Luc Plissonneau’s ‘Les Mains’, and Benoit Paire’s ‘Le Berger’, and as part of the concert, the 17-minute-long ‘Les Mains’ (which has been entered into the Cannes Film Festival) will feature.

To complete this feast of musical brilliance, tickets will also be on offer for the concert to include a meal deal ticket for those who wish. This two-course meal, of freshly prepared locally produced Welsh food, will be served at Foxy’s Deli from 6pm-7.45pm.

For those not wanting the meal deal, a bar and nibbles will be available at The Paget Rooms from 7.30pm ready for an 8pm start.

This extra meal deal twist serves to develop the Café International French and Welsh connection. Proceeds from the evening will be apportioned between Breast Cancer Research and the Welsh National Eisteddfod.
