Keep off the green verges

IN this waterlogged season of good cheer, can those who drive vehicles on the green verges on our residential streets have a conscience, before the council brings in XFOR?

Churning up the verge is not only unlawful and anti-social behaviour, but far more disfiguring to our neighbourhoods than the single pieces of litter for which XFOR is dictating £75 fines. The culprits are often identifiable, some being resident adjacent, others being business vehicles.

If XFOR’s contract is extended in 2013 to include damage to public verges, let’s see them extract the costs of repairing the damage too. Max Wallis Penarth
