MY mother, who lives in Penarth, just bought Norwegian Kroner at Cardiff-Wales airport, The Change Group Landside, and was charged four per cent commission, £1.50 transaction fee in addition to an exchange rate of NOK 6.315 to GBP 1.
Bearing in mind the published exchange that day (December 20) was about 9.1 to 1, this is a rip-off; in receiving NOK 1,550, she paid a total of £256.77 – in other words, the transaction cost her around £90!
Is this kind of service going to make it attractive to fly abroad from, or into, CWL? I think not.
