Grateful to our knitters

FOLLOWING on from the article in last week’s Penarth Times (January 10), I want to thank all the knitters for their amazing efforts.
If they have any hats that they have already knitted then I would be grateful to receive them. These will be added to the 4,000 hats that I have already collected in readiness for sending to the troops in Afghanistan in the Autumn this year.
This number of hats should cover the reduced number of forces that will be deploying in the Autumn and hopefully the next year when most, if not all, the forces should be home.
Obviously if the situation changes and I feel that I may run out of hats before the troops come home then I will be asking people to pick up their needles once more.
Once again a very big thanks to everyone for their support.
