Now a time to reflect
10:10am Thursday 21st February 2013 in Letters
WE have now entered the season of Lent and it is time of reflection for all Christians and others alike.
It is good for us to examine our lives and possibly give up something to sacrifice.
During the forty days of Lent we can also spend time in prayer and focus on what God wants to change or improve on. I have written the following poem to reflect on the call of God.
Come to me
I stand at the door of your heart and knock, The handle is on your side, I am very gentle it will be no shock, My arms are open wide.
Just come and sit beside me, Just come to me and pray, For I will dwell inside thee, And bring light to your day.
There is no other way to God, Than through his only son, So why not make that step today, And ask the Lord to come.
For he is a gentle master, And longs to draw you near, To heal your life of inner strife, And wipe away your tears.
So take a taste of Jesus, So beautiful and pure, Enjoy the ecstasy of grace, And his love that will e’re endure.
