Problems of Ash Path

IN RESPONSE to the letter two weeks ago stating the Ash Path “is fine” (Penarth Times, February 7).

Speaking as one of the “selfish parents” whose concerns for her children walking to and from school on the Ash Path are deemed unnecessary by certain people, I would like to emphasise a few points.

Firstly, the practical answer to the flooding on the Ash Path is to wear waterproof boots – if, the children were allowed to wear boots in school. Yes, they could change into shoes when they get there but would then have to carry them around all day in their already heavy laden bags.

Secondly, how uncomfortable must it be walking around all day with soaking wet cold feet and wet, muddy trousers?

Maybe ‘back in the day’ this was acceptable but it certainly isn’t now!

As for the rubbish, maybe asking the council for some bins would be a good idea?

Well done Councillor Chris Franks, keep on fighting for a better, safer journey to school for our children.
