REGARDING the article 'Council tax set to rise by 4.8 per cent' (Penarth Times, February 28).
Yes, we have only ourselves to blame! The previous labour run central government left this country in massive debt, for which we are all paying and will continue to pay for many more years. Now our new labour controlled local Vale of Glamorgan Council is proposing an increase in Council Tax of 4.8 per cent, which will be not only the highest in Wales but also two per cent above inflation. They say that they have "no alternative", and we, the electorate, have only ourselves to blame for voting them in.
