HAVING spent two hours reading through the draft LDP I congratulate the authors - this is bound to unify almost all the residents of the Vale - as it contains enough bad news to upset almost everyone - no matter where they live or what their political hue.
On the issue of housing - one may question the proposed numbers of houses and their locations listed - but accepting both those as given - what is missing is the corresponding detail on how the transport infrastructure that will be used by these additional residents will cope. Putting 100's of additional houses in the St Athan/Eglyws Brewis/Llantwit area is certain to have a knock on effect on the road network further east of them - the main routes to Cardiff. Roads that are already gridlocked during rush hours now.
Any ideas about 'persuading' those people to use public transport or hoping that they will all get employed locally and will want/be able to cycle to work as opposed to pouring 100's more cars onto the already-overburdened roads are hypothetical at best and downright disingenuous/misleading/poorly thought out at worst.
