Dismay at new traveller site

IT is with great dismay that I, as a longstanding resident of the extremely well kept and lively village of Sully, learn that the illegal gypsy site in Hayes Road is being considered as a permanent site.
How can anyone condone that when someone breaks the law they can get away with it. If I was to break the law in any way I should expect to be punished and quite rightly so.
These people choose to live in squalor and filth.
The residents of Sully take great pride in their properties having worked hard to own a nice property in a nice area. Our council tax is extremely high, so we deserve to keep our village to the high standard it has always been.
A great number of residents are quite elderly, they're not in a position to attend protest meetings or march to show their solidarity!
How on earth can the powers that be think of changing our lovely village so drastically? Are we to end up with another Rover Way?
