IT has been heartbreaking to witness the damage to Dingle Park, Windsor Road, in recent times.
A little while ago there were brambles and shrubs cut down, destroying the habitat, insects and food and cover for the birds. The number of bird species has declined here over the years.
The planting of garden plants has exacerbated the loss of the wild nature of this park. Although pretty, they are out of character with the rest of the park. This wild area is disappearing.
Telephone calls and letters to the council and to councillors have elicited little or no response.
The park was once a lovely wild haven.
May it be so again, with indigenous species in abundance.
