No Mr Peter Thomas (Penarth Times, June 12) Stanwell are NOT indifferent to the history of previous applications and have sought to address previous concerns in this latest application.
The siting of the proposed playing surface means it is shielded on one side by the school itself, mature trees, a road and mature trees, on the opposite side a large expanse of open space, mature trees, a road, mature trees and a road on on side the tennis courts, mature trees and a road on the final side an area of open grass, scrub-land and mature trees
The proposed lighting is the latest low spillage, the playing surface and surrounding fencing etc SPECIFICALLY designed to reduce any noise.
ALL of this was explained in some detail by the School at the information evening they held, were you there, did you listen?
I am also intrigued as to what these 'legitimate, long established residential amenities of the neighbourhood" are?
The proposed playing surface would itself be a fantastic amenity for the school and all the young people of Penarth.
I sincerely hope Stanwell are successful in their attempts and that the REALITY of the proposal rather than the long held misinformation and misconceptions held and propogated by Mr Thomas and others does not continue to hold sway.
