I WRITE on behalf of the artists of Penarth who opened their studios on Saturday, July 12, as a part of the Penarth Holiday Festival to thank all who supported our new venture.
I personally regularly open my home for charity fund raising events showcasing my glass work and know how rewarding it can be to meet people who are interested in locally created art work. I have had for some years the vision of an Artists Trail as promoted in lots of other places, large and small, and am delighted that at last this concept has come to Penarth. Thank you Penarth Town Council for including us as part of the Holiday Festival programme. Speaking for the 18 artists, in nine venues who partook in the event, this was great experience which we hope to repeat in future years. We met lots of delightful visitors who took genuine interest in Penarth based art. We also raised from voluntary donations a total of £200 for Breast Cancer Care, our selected charity. Thanks again.
