AS a parent whose younger child has just completed his time at Albert Primary School, I would like to say a very heartfelt thanks to the head, the teaching staff and all support staff associated with this wonderful school.
My children have had fantastic opportunities during their time there, from drama (including the recent outstanding performance of Oliver) to sport (with pupils reaching local and national finals), from both educational and family trips (the latter being a real bonus) to extra-curricular sessions (including Italian lessons) - and I firmly believe they would not have had such a range of experiences in any other school.
Perhaps more importantly, they and their friends have emerged as kind, considerate and caring children, who look out for their classmates and stand up for what they think is right – and this grounding in life is something for which I will always be grateful to the school.
Of course there have been difficult times, and with such an old building to maintain it is inevitable that there will be occasional disruption, but I believe that rather than criticise the school and its staff for things that may be out of their control, it really is time to point out the huge positives.
So thank you to Albert Primary – my children and I could not have wished for a better primary school, and we will miss you!
