PAINTINGS in Penarth Pavilion
Each time I stroll into the gallery,
I find a fascinating exhibition.
Poems and paintings by Aneurin Morgan Thomas,
Confronted by curious eyes.
I wandered around Carreg Cennen Castle,
Somerset hills and the chapel at Rhos.
A poem about the Second World War,
Described graphically tragedy and gore.
"This roasted rot of manhood."
There was a reconstruction of his desk,
With books, a mug of tea, cards,
Newspapers and a lamp.
I could almost feel his ghost drifting in,
For he died in 2009.
On the next occasion I visit here,
I hope other fine paintings will appear.
