UNLIKE Michael O'Neil (Penarth Times, July 24) I think that it would be wrong to pander to the obvious wishes of the owner of 'Normandy' to flatten/alter it as it would send out the wrong message. That message being, that if you leave a building to rot for long enough you will be able to get your way.
Does the council have the power to purchase the property or put it's workforce in to restore the building and bill the owner?
I am sure the building could be restored.
