THE seventh Charity Garden Party was held on September 6 2014 by Beryl and Bernard Rowlands at Ceiriog Close, Penarth and we were blessed with a really lovely day.

All family, friends and neighbours supported the event and a total of £700 was made, £500 of which will be donated to Marie Curie Holme Tower in loving memory of Jim, Bernard and Betty’s brother. £100 to “Ten of Us” in memory of Beryl’s father Bill and £100 to the Stroke Association memory of Beryl’s mother Lydia.

A very big thank you to all for working so hard, whether manning the stalls, ‘the boys’ on the entrance, selling raffle tickets and presenting the prizes, ‘the girls’ who served tea and coffee, the cake stall, bric-a-brac, books, parcels, toy stall, those for Penarth and District Fundraising group, Cancer Research Campaign and Linda on clothes.

Many thanks also to All Saints Church for the loan of the tea urn and china and St Joseph’s Church for the loan of the tables.

Very many thanks to all those who gave so generously with the wonderful raffle prizes, donations, even if they could not be there. Wasons and Source of Beauty for their raffle prizes.

Thank you once again for all your help and generosity to make this such a good day to benefit Marie Curie Cancer Care, “Ten of Us” and Stroke Association.
